How was your weekend....
I've been meaning to ask you that! So how was your weekend???
Well mine was ummm unusual! I had the whole house to myself and didn't know what to do! There were no kids fighting, playing, hollarin they were hungry... the usual daily sounds and going ons. So I had no cooking to do, no messes to clean up, no refureeing to do, lol... I straighted the house the first day they were gone and I'll be.... it was clean the whole weekend!
Derek came home on Wed night, for his sisters birthday on Thurs. They all left Thurs night in the middle of the rain and headed to the lake! From what I gather they had a great time! Derek's car blew the engine on the way home tho.....
Me, I had all these plans to work on some scrapbooks and make some customer calls and work on some things that I'd been putting off. I didn't get a darn thing done! I didn't know what to do with myself. I wondered around piddling here n there, I mean there was just so much straightening up I could do with out breaking out the carpet shampooer. And of course I had to feed the animals, even those silly sheep! My daughter asked me before she left "Do you know what to feed them?" "I think we better go on a tour, mom" LOL She thought she needed to show me what to feed and how to feed it!!!! It was cute!
So tell me about what this weekend holds in store for you, it's almost here....

On the best reading list is.....
Treasures to Scrap blog challenge was to tell what books we are reading or want to read.... well hmmmmm, I have picked this book up 2-3 times to read, but never get to far in it... but I'm working on "Your Best Life Now" by Joel Osteen! I think the reason I don't get to far is cuz I have to analyze every thing in the book. I read with a highlighter in hand marking everything that appeals to me that I might want to remember or add to my journal.
For some reason I just can not read a Dr. Phil book! I love to listen to the man and love his advice but his books I just can't get into!!!
Not to often I'll pick up a romance to read, usually a western/christian romance or Danelle Steele.
So tell me what you read?!!!!

Feelin Lucky???
Well the ladies at Treasures to Scrap are at it again, playing while Tracy is in Vegas!!!! While the cat is away the mice shall play.... and sending Tracy good luck vibes! So the question that Dawn asked us was "Have you gotten lucky?" HUHHHH???? Weeeelllll I think that is of personal matter and I'm sure you don't want to read about it, not that there is anything to read in the first place, lol.
OOOOOOHHHHH maybe it wasn't HAVE you gotten lucky, it was what makes you feel luck or do you have a lucky charm??? Pays to pay attention, if all else fails RE-READ!
Guess I could of said "I'd be lucky to get lucky!!!" LOL
Hmmm luck... not sure if I call it luck, maybe "carma" (made me think of the song on Nancy's blog, gotta figure out how to get that song!) I don't think of things as luck, I think God knows when you need a special lil boost and surprises you with his blessings! So to me I'd say my luck is my blessings!

Wow, it's been almost 2 weeks since I've posted anything! Here's a first for me... Dawn at Treasures to Scrap asked us to post a layout that we loved and tell why..... hmmmmm well lets see if I can manage that!
These 2 pages I loved because thet paper seemed to be fitting for my sons album, and it showed the relationship between him and his dad, since he was a mama's boy daddy time was not often...

The birthday celebration at Treasures to Scrap was so much fun!
The celebration at Ts was so much fun... I hadn't made so many things in awhile. We had classes where we made things, I've never made an album out of paper bags before! Have you??? It was so cool, I made one in a zoo theme for the pictures that were taken at the Ohmaha, NE zoo a couple years back!
Dawn did a card class, I dug out some vintage seed packet stickers I had picked up some where, and made some cards out of them.... I think they are to pretty to share but I'll find someone who appreciates the homemade things to send one to!
OOOHHH and I think my favorite thing was the "Deck of Me" class!!! Nancy showed us how to take a deck of playing cards and turn in into a mini scrapbook about ourselves!!!! It is the next best thing to PB&J I'm tellin ya!! I am really excited about this project, I've been wanting to do a scrapbook about me, this is one I can toss in my purse and show my Mary Kay sisters!!! We will have a challenge a week to get all 52 cards done! I can not wait til the next one... the first one we were suppose to tell or show something we were proud of. Of course I had to say I am proud of my kids!
I am in hopes I can get a scanner on the first so that I can scan and share the projects I made with you all! I'm excited to make more scrapbook pages and other projects to share with you!

Lessons of life
Holy cow I learned a lesson of life tonight....
When your 5 year old is out on the trampoline and says "This is my trick mommy, you do it now" "betcha can't"
BELIEVE HIM!!!!!!
Now I know why adults shouldn't play on these things unless they are trained professionals, which I obviously am NOT! I think I popped every bone in my neck, and now it hurts to "bow" my head... God knows I need to bow my head to pray the pain goes away!!

Why does growing up have to be so hard (parents side)...
The past couple of days have been soooo rough, maybe not for the my oldest son, but for me. He graduated in May, I know he's a big boy that's going to have to go out into the real world. But it's still not so easy, on mom.
My dad called Monday, never dreamed that one call could lead to so many changes around the house here. He knew of a guy needing help wanted to know if Derek wanted the job, told him to call him. Derek got the call yesterday to be in KS this morning to fill out the paper work. ~sigh~ My son was indeed leaving home.
With all the confusion as to how I was getting him to KS, and the emotional rollercoaster I'm on in my life it turned out to be a rough day. I got him to my dads last night around 10ish, we had a nice road trip, he chatted about everything (including the truck in front of us loosing a tire). His future plans, ideas, and he was excited. That made the trip alil easier.
Once I returned home, that was a different scene... my daughter, the one that fights nonstop and can't be nice to her brother to save her life, was in his bed! Watching TV! I asked her what she was doing? She tearfully told me that Derek said she could sleep in his bed, and "claims" that she is going to miss him. Well I'm telling you it was all I could do to keep from bawlin myself. After alil talk she was soon asleep in big brothers bed!
Today, it is sooo strange to not have him home! I took Abby and Skyler to the library for an activity, something Derek had been doing, that was thier time to go and do without the watchful eye of mom! After wards Abby found a friend and decided she needed to spend the night with her friend... so now the house is reeeeeeeallllly empty. Just Skyler and me this afternoon! Way to quiet, no fighting over the TV, no screaming and tattling... nothing but Skyler playing with his new toy and jumping on the trampoline.
Trying to cook supper, I'm sure I've cooked to much food, what ya suppose to do when your used to cooking for 5 with appetites of 7??? I had to thin it down to a meal for 3 yikkkesss well be eating leftovers for a couple days!!!! And worse yet noone but me in the house and I don't know what to do! I could be scrapping or reading or this or that..... but noooooooo I'm wondering from room to room looking for everyone. Derek's bed is made so neatly only cuz his sister did it! It usually never is made! lol...
Noone to share my sadness and tears with you'll, I hope you don't mind...

Hmmm my 1st summer job....
I don't think that it was a "summer job", I think it was more like a real job, everyday after school and thru the summer. There was an old fashioned drug store on main street, with an old time fountain in it too. Yes I WAS a soda jerk-ett, lol. Devastating as it is, it was kinda fun! Every one knew everyone in town, and it was on the way to the pool. It was hip and cool to go to the drugstore for your vanilla pepsi's!
Silly Boys!!!
I was just thinking about the excitement of Sunday! I posted this on my myspace blog and thought I'd share it here too!
With summer coming fast, been busy with roundup and cattle stuff. Selling, gathering, brandin, vaccinating, some are calvin.... wow some of those lil babies are cute!
But with the cattle business come horse business... and I'm telling you... I have a very naughty lil boy on my hands!! "Thunder" is coming 3 this summer, and I really think he should of been started last year!! Holy hell!!! He dang sure didn't like that saddle on his back!!!!! He bucked all around the ol homestead. I'm glad he wasn't in the correl or the round pen he'd tore it down!!! Silly boy took out half a tree!!! I kid you not! My son was in his way but he didn't care he kept on buckin and Derek had to leap in a pile of brush to take cover!!! I guess when it was all said and done with it was kind of funny, all I saw was Derek's head pop back out of the bushes! AND me without my camera!
Well that was the extent of my excitement over the weekend! I better get out and tend to the horses and check water tanks.... ya'll have a good one!

I'm now an official muppet!!
This was tooooo funny, all my years of watching THE MUPPETS growing up, I've always had my favorite and now I AM "ANIMAL"!!!!!!!!
| You Are Animal |
A complete lunatic, you're operating on 100% animal instincts. You thrive on uncontrolled energy, and you're downright scary. But you sure can beat a good drum. "Kill! Kill!" |

Organization Challenge
Okay, the challenge at Ts was organize anything and tell about it...
Well I just went thru my lil scrap area last week and sorted everything by color, embellishments, ribbons, etc... BUT my paper was kinda already done. So I straightened it up, put away any loose papers that I had pulled and didn't use. Things like that. I don't think this paper system is going to work well for me, right now I have it in priority boxes that I cut down and made holders out of, kinda like a magazine box. I don't like flippin thru the papers to find what color I need THEN trying to remember what order it was in when I'm done. Flip back thru and slide it in, it's a pain. SO I'm going to buy some drawers for my things I have sorted into colors and add the paper to the drawers also. Even the scraps of paper, so this way when I'm done with a page I can just open the drawer and slip in the scraps and the paper I didn't use! I think this will be so much easier for me. I can also see what I'm running low on while in the process. I'm not buying much supplies til I use up at least half of what I have now! Then I'll watch my spending, look at how I purchase my supplies in the future. I have so much supplies now that I'm not sure how I'm going to use some of it. I thought it was pretty, or neat at the time I bought it, but now I'm thinking "What was I thinking buying that????"
Well back to the scrap area for me, happy scrappin ya'll!!!!!!!!!!

WooHoo here it is.....
The Gals at Treasures to Scrap have been posting blog challenges, well I didn't have a blog so I made one so I can do the challenges! Woohoo.... and heeeeeeeeeeerrrre it is.....
It's not much of a blog spot but it's allllll mine! I don't have any of the scrapbook pages I've done to add here yet. I'm working on a scanner or something so I can post them. I was told my scanner and digital camera was to "old" to be compatible with this windows system, so I have to buy new, and find someone who needs these things for an older system, just hate tossing good working stuff out the door!
Let me start my blog by accomplishing the T's challenge...
The first challenge I saw was to post 12 things that I'm happy for.....
1. For my family, kids might get on my nerves and I might scream and yell some but I still am thinkful for them.
2. For my health, something I think I take advantage of. I'm a uh hem good age that I could have health problems. But I don't. An occasional, ache here or there, a day that I might be close to tears for no reason, or like now the sniffles cuz I mowed the yard... all and all I AM a healthy person.
3. I have to say that I'm glad I have this place to live at. There was a situation a few weeks ago that I thought that the ranch was going to be taken out of my life, but it's all good. I absolutely love it here, it's my lil hole in the world. It's so peaceful and beautiful here.
4. I am thankful for Mary, she is my friend, mentor, and my director. I dunno how she does it but she knows things about me that I barely know myself. She knows when I'm hurting, when I need to talk without me saying a word, she understands me better than I understand myself. I love her to pieces!!!
5. I'm happy that I can be a stay at home mom, working only the hours I choose to work. I own my own business, setting my own hours. And I get to touch the lives of other women.
6. Along with #5 goes another happy... I'm happy when I've made a difference in a woman's life. When she goes out the door feeling better about herself, more beautiful and more confident than when she came in. That makes me sooooo happy!
7. I am happy when I get to go out riding my horses. Even if it is "working" the ranch. Checking cattle, gathering cattle, or just checkin fence lines... it's all work but to me it's also play. I love my horse, she takes care of me! I get told I spoil her and let her get away with stuff, but well isn't that a womans job???
8. I'm happy that my son has decided to go to college. He wasn't sure he wanted to but has been talking about diesel mech. and truck driving. The best part of all is it's not to far from home!
9. I'm happy that I have internet friends. They all keep me up and scrapping, specially Dawn, she's been there for me thru my non scrappin days as well as encourages me to scrap!
10. My front porch makes me happy! I love sitting out there just watching the grass grow or the sprinkler watering the yard. It's so quiet and beautiful. I have planted flowers all around and there are comfy chairs all around it. The kids and I spend alot of time just sitting n talking.
11. I'm happy when we have guests in our home. Living out in the country we don't see many people unless we go to town. Which I can usually find a reason NOT to go faster than I can find a reason to go! I like heearing the laughter in my home, it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
12. I'm happy that I had to do this challenge... I don't stop and think about all the things I'm happy for and that makes me happy often enough. It made me stop and think about life for a lil bit!!!!
Well there it is my first post on my brand new blog space!!!!!!!!!!! Hope you've enjoyed reading it and I'm sure I'll be back soon!
