Weather is nice for October

We spent the weekend at Todd's, and the weather was nice for October. These are some random pictures I took of the kids. I know living in our apartment Skyler doesn't get to go outside and enjoy the freedom of playing all day. He played in this mound of dirt all day! He had a fort, a castle and a river that he jumped across.

Abby was trying desperately to find a place to sit, this is the best she could do. Without getting dirty of course. The tree became a perfect photo scene.

My kids are together....

It was a great weekend! All of my kids were together for a change!

Saturday evening, we all went to supper, by we "all" I mean everyong! Susan, Terry, Susan's parents, Austin, Wyatt, Todd, Derek, Andrie, Abby, and Skyler! Planks BBQ is the best place to eat in Garden City, KS I swear! After supper we went to Home Depot and Wal-Mart.

Sunday the kids and I went to Sublette to eat with Dad and Angie. That's another first in a long time, to sit and everyone visit!

Project Life

On Monday I began to think "it's a slow week not going to have much to take pictures of this week", considering the week go off to a rocky start with attitudes and tempers flaring. I wasn't sure there was going to be much to document with everyone in a bad mood!
I was wrong so far I've taken 32 pictures! Everything from the chaulk drawing on the sidewalk on Monday, empty toilet paper rolls, Skyler making cookies, to the boss's dog laying under my desk near the heater where is was warm and the sunrise this morning! And we haven't even gotten to the weekend yet.
Skyler's Halloween party at school is today and we talked about going to the "BOO at the Zoo" in Garden City this weekend!
Can't wait to see what the rest of the week brings so I can document it!

'The Window from Which We Look'

A young couple moves into a new neighborhood.

The next morning while they are eating breakfast,

the young woman sees her neighbor hanging the wash outside.

"That laundry is not very clean", she said. "She doesn't know how to wash correctly. Perhaps she needs better laundry soap."

Her husband looked on, but remained silent.

Every time her neighbor would hang her wash to dry, the young woman would make the same comments.

About one month later, the woman was surprised to see a nice clean wash on the line and said to her husband: "Look, she has learned how to wash correctly. I wonder who taught her this."

The husband said, "I got up early this morning and cleaned our windows."

And so it is with life. What we see when watching others depends on the purity of the window through which we look.

Fall Break

Had the best weekend ever! Todd, Wyatt, Cody, Sam, Abby and I went to Waynoka, OK, Little Sahara State Park. We spent the weekend camping and 4 wheeling. By camping I mean NO electricity and NO running water! Had cell phone service but it wasnt that great for getting on Facebook or sending picture messages, in fact Abby had no service, which was really nice! My phone stayed in my bag most of the weekend with the exception of a few pics and trying to post them to Facebook.
We pulled into camp about midnight Friday night, it was packed. We were lucky to find a camping spot! By the time we got camp set up and to bed it was after 2am, and it was C-O-L-D that night!
I like the way all the 4 wheelers looks all lined up in our camp site!

The guys getting ready to go ride on Saturday.
Spent the day Saturday and Sunday tearing up the sand and having a ball!
Can't wait to do it again!

Dear God...

I'm Back!

I've been reading a couple ladies blogs lately, and I think I like blogging. I also use Facebook, but I think I tried to use that as a blog and it's so not the same!

So I've redone my blog and I'm starting over...

I'm working on a project called "Project Life" that I found on Becky Higgins site, thru Facebook. It challanges to take a picture a day for a year, and combine it with journaling and other elements of you daily life to document your life at this moment for future generations. I liked this idea, besides it looked like an easier; quicker way to scrapbook which is something I really need and without the pressure of making the perfect scrapbook page.

So I wanted to share one of the pictures I took this week...

I thought it was ironic that I had put the pumpkins we got at the pumpkin patch last week on our door step and a black cat has been lingering around also; with it being October and Halloween time and all... (ok the food helped keep him still for the photo)

I plan on learning how to ad digital elements to my photos soon but until then you get plain photos.
